Today, the Romanesque art gives us an extraordinary heritage of
architecture and sculptures. In the 11th and 12th century, France, as the
Western Europe, saw rise a multitude of churches, that still gives rhythm to
the landscape. The Romanesque stones, today, are the sublime glows of the
medieval civilization. But if the Romanesque art concerns us and appears to us
so modern, it is because it expresses some universal preoccupations: the one
of the human spirituality, but also his confrontation to the violence, the
links between the visual, shapes and the message...
